This prize is awarded every other year during a Conference year to enable a young cosmetic scientist to attend an IFSCC Conference. As 2016 is a Congress year the next prize will be an invitation to attend the 2017 IFSCC Conference in Seoul, Korea with the cost of travel, accommodation and registration fees up to, but not exceeding, 5000 Swiss Francs, being paid by the IFSCC. Any member of a member society of the IFSCC, normally under 35 years of age, may apply.
Applicants should submit an essay of between 500 and 3,000 words on one of five topics decided on by the Past President of the IFSCC. The essay topics, updated April 2016, are:
a) Describe your vision of cosmetics over the next few years.
b) Is Regulation a constraint or a source of innovation?
c) How cosmetic science can contribute to the improvement of society
d) My first year in the cosmetic field: problems and future hopes
e) How can cosmetics improve human health?
The applicant enters the competition by sending electronically a copy of the essay to the IFSCC Secretariat – firstname.lastname@example.org – with the information requested on the entry form (copies of which are available from the link below or from local Societies). The essay must be submitted in English accompanied by the details requested on the official entry form which is available from your local Society. A copy of the essay must also be sent to the office of the Member Society to which the applicant belongs.
Applicants must be members of good standing in their Society, which in turn must be current in its Federation subscription. Applicants must submit proof that they are actively employed in a technical capacity in the cosmetic industry or related academia and that they meet the relevant requirements.
Please note that the Award winner must attend the Conference and accept the Prize in person.

YOUNG SCIENTIST PRIZE WINNER 2015
Congratulations to Chaikriangkrai Amata (KOSÉ Corporation, Japan), winner of the 2015 Maison G de Navarre Young Scientist Prize. He was presented with his scroll by former President Jadir Nunes and outgoing President Claudie Willemin during the September 2015 IFSCC Conference in Zurich, Switzerland.
Chaikriangkrai Amata’s prize was a fully paid trip to the 2015 Conference. The title of his winning essay was "From an Eco-friendly to an Eco-improving World of Cosmetic Science: Addressing Water Pollution in Emerging and Developing Societies".
The next Maison G de Navarre Young Scientist Prize will be awarded in 2017, with the prize being a fully paid trip to the 2017 Conference in Seoul, Korea (23-25 October 2017). See the Maison G de Navarre page for details and a prize application.
