THE EFFECT OF CLIMATE ON THE SENSORY PROPERTIES OF SUNSCREENS
A presentation by Vincet Hubiche (Personal Care Application Lab Manager, Gattefossé SAS France) to the Indian Society of Cosmetic Chemists (ISCC) on 18 January this year focused on sunscreens.
The development of sun care products, already complicated by regulatory constraints, is made more difficult by the variable needs of consumers.
It is well known that the skin feel of a sun care product is strongly influenced by the UV filters, particularly in the case of high SPF formulations. Recent studies have shown that environmental conditions should also be considered as they influence the perception of texture and skin feel.
The presentation was attended by people from both industry and academia.
