MARKERS ASSESSMENT DAY HELPS MAINTAIN CLARITY AND PARITY FOR SCS DIPLOMA
The SCS held its second Markers Assessment Day on 9 May for everyone currently involved with the SCS Diploma in Cosmetic Science in terms of setting and marking coursework and exam questions. A few others potentially interested in becoming involved in this area for future expansion also attended.
The day was led by Dr Alison James, Acting Director, Academic Quality and Development University of Winchester, who had put together another excellent programme. Areas covered included clarity and parity in assessing: understanding and reconciling assessment briefs, assessment criteria, marking matrices and learning outcomes
It was a very successful day and delegates had an opportunity to ask any burning questions around any assessment issues as well as take part in a variety of group activities.
There is rarely an opportunity for everyone to meet up with their fellow markers so it is great to have this catch up; it can be quite an isolated activity!
We will certainly be holding this popular event again next year.
